LITTLE EGRET

Little Egret (Egretta garzetta) - this is our leading species. Name of our group has been adopted from the old Polish name of Little Egret - formerly called „Czaplon nadobny”. Little egret appears in Upper Vistula Valley almost annually from July to September - usually single birds. Largest flock ever occured here were 9 birds which stayed on fish-ponds near Roztropice from 31st VII to 6th VIII 1994 (K. Henel).
